What difference can a small group of caring volunteers make to a patch of scruffy, weed-filled dirt and sand?

Just look at the pictures! Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, the wildlife animal hospital and refuge where people from across South Jersey take injured birds and animals is one of our community's of the great treasures. When they told Medford Sunrise Rotary they wanted to convert an area outside of their new educational room into a garden that attracts bees, hummingbords and butterflys, the members said, "Sign us up! We'll donate everything and take care of it all"

In just a couple of hours on Sunday morning, they raked, shoveled, planted indigenous flowering plants and shrubs and mulched it all.

Rotarians are People Of Action making a difference in our community and around the world. If YOU are in the general Medford area and are interested in joining Rotary and making a difference as a community volunteer with some great new friends, call Jim Robinson at 609.923.3881
Medford Sunrise Rotary organized two community-wide shredding events in November and March--and processed more than 30,000 pounds of recycled papers and documents. "That's 15 1/2 tons that did not go into landfills, saving 250 trees and thousands of gallons of oil and water," said club president  Chris Forward. The most recent event alone accepted 11,545 pounds of documents from neighbors from Marlton to Tabernacle and shredded them right in front of their eyes. "Cars were lined up waiting for us to open, and people were so grateful that they made voluntary donations, all of which we will use for local community service projects," Forward added.
Medford Sunrise Rotary welcomes local residents who enjoy the networking power of working alongside business and civic leaders while volunteering on projects that improve the community through such endeavors as the Burlington County Field of Honor, Eagle Scout projects, taking meals to Ronald McDonald House residents, collecting "treats" for soldiers serving overseas and serving the homeless. New members are welcome. For more information, call Jim Robinson at 609.923.3881

THANK YOU Medford Sunrise Rotary and ShopRite of Medford for yet again taking a wonderful nutritious dinner to the dear families and pediatric patients from all over the world at Ronald McDonald House in Camden. And Santa had gifts for all 21 children, too! Here is Jim Robinson, Tommy Monaghan and the indefatigable Tom Wolff who organizes our project year round. If YOU would like to experience the joy of giving back to your community in the new year, call Medford Sunrise Rotary president Chris at 609.410.3973
